The original infrastructure for this game requires signing in with a proprietary account. This infrastructure also accounted for server-based multiplayer games.
In order to make the game playable, and after studying the interactions between all relevant components in the infrastructure, a special PHP file named "main.php", placed in the same directory as the front-facing SWF, was created to embed the game and allow the user to select power-ups before a game session begins.
To play the game properly, the following procedure must be followed:
1. If desired, set the appropriate power-ups before starting a new game, by (un)checking the checkboxes.
2. If power-ups have been selected, the "Start game!" button will be disabled. In order to apply the selected power-ups, you must click the "Restart game!" buttom. Refreshing the page here will NOT apply the changes!
3. Please let the Flash file load completely! Trying to start the game before the SWF loads will not make it start, and the "Start game!" button will disable by design. In order to attempt again, you must refresh the page or press the "Restart game!" button.
4. Once the game is properly loaded, press the "Start game!" button, and the game will start. At this time, the "Start game!" button will disable, and the "Pause game!" one will enable. You may play now.
5. If you want to pause the game, click the "Pause game!" button. The game will darken, and the button will rename itself to "Resume game!". Click it again to resume the game, lighten the game screen and rename back the button.
6. Once a game session ends, the game will get stuck. At this time, you may return to step 1 if you wish to play another session.
If the game starts behaving erratically (the game doesn't load or ends prematurely, the numbers don't show up), refresh the page.
