Notes
This simulator replicates the experience of playing with the old Mego and Tiger 2-XL toys from 1978 and 1992 respectively. The FlashPoint project has captured the 2xlbot.com website, which included 43 out of the 44 U.S. Tiger 2-XL tapes and 11 out of the 44 U.S Mego 2-XL tapes.
At the time of writing this, Mouser's site include 4 out of 44 U.S Tiger 2-XL tapes and 14 out of 44 U.S. Mego 2-XL tapes.
The original files that Mouser used for his simulator are present here. However, because Mouser's simulator was desgined to be modular, more tapes can be added as they are recovered and digitized. The objective is to ensure that as many Mego and Tiger 2-XL tapes as possible are preserved and available to children for years to come. These will include Mego 2-XL and Tiger 2-XL tapes from both inside and outside the U.S. There are known German, French, Italian, and Spanish-language releases.
There will be some overlap in tape title coverage between this simulator and the 2xlbot.com simulator that is already in Flashpoint.
